Recent Past President, Sandeeb Kurian #1205 Received National’s Scholastic 2019 Award

Brother Kurian received a $2500 scholarship and currently has a 3.81 GPA

Sandeeb Kurian #1205, our chapter’s recent past President, was presented ΑΣΦ’s “Undergraduate Scholar of the Year” at the awards luncheon of Elevate 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, July 13, 2019.

First awarded in 1956, this ΑΣΦ award is the most prestigious scholarship the Fraternity bestows. Its recipient is always an undergraduate brother with an impeccable academic record, noted service to the community and Fraternity, and positions of distinction within his chapter. It is given in recognition of significant academic achievement during the brother’s undergraduate experience; he excels, leads by example, and is a testament to our values for exemplifying the ideals, vision, and purpose of the fraternity throughout his undergraduate experience.

Since this award’s founding in 1956, we’ve had one other brother from the Beta Omicron Chapter win the award; Timothy Adams #819 in 1971, who is also a past Chapter President.

Sandeeb is majoring in Design Engineering Technology and minoring in Chemistry and Leadership and if that is not enough, he is doing a Pre-Med track as well. He plans to graduate in December 2020 with possibly a Masters of Business Administration or a Masters in Engineering.

Sandeeb was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Elkhart, Indiana. He plays volleyball, video games and strategy board games, and enjoys photography and playing with and learning about new gadgets and innovations in technology.

Sandeeb is currently the leading the Chapter’s recruiting effort and is going back to school early this year when the freshman class reports to school.
