It was an absolutely perfect day for the inaugural Duff Lake Party as the temperatures soared above 90°F and the heat index climbed above 100!  A total of (32) brothers and guests attended, with (13) UGs making the trek.   The atmosphere was energetic and positive as we mingled the alumni and the undergraduates in a festive occasion.  The food was amazing, the drinks were plentiful and the laughs were numerous and boisterous as the should be when the Alpha Sigs get to together for a bonding event like this.  The party started at 1:00PM with snacks served around 2:30pm, followed by a dinner (see menu) at 5:00PM.  Anne Duff is an amazing cook who made sure everyone fully enjoyed the spread!   I must admit, all the food was eaten less a few snacks at the end of the night!  A big shout out to Rob Ritz #983 for buying all the carnivore meet for the Korean Beef portion of the Bibimbap…thank you Brother Ritz!

The tubing was a blast.  We ripped the skin off the tube after only (2) pulls but improvised by tying the tube off with the rope and kept ripping around the lake.  Crazy fun to watch the young energy of our UGs killing it on the waves!   

We also had to save a gang of brothers who had drifted west on the tanning float by hauling them in via the boat….took us several tries to finally get them back to the lake house……it was hilarious to watch.    Several guests stayed until just short of midnight as the hosts had finally run out of steam after a fun-filled day of brotherhood on beautiful Hamilton Lake.    

A shout out, too, to Brother Jim Bour #973 for donating the Alpha Sigma Phi flag that flown proudly all day at the event….thank you Brother Bour! 

A new tradition has certainly been established, and I’m confident the attendance will grow as the years go on.  Anne and I feel very proud to be able to host our brothers and their wives & guests and look forward to Duff Lake Party #2 in 2026.  Stay tuned by checking into our website at https://alphasigsattrine.org/ periodically for dates and times for next year’s event.
